This 5kW system consists of 17 x AEG Monocrystalline panels of 300W, and a Fronius Symo 5kVa, 3-phase inverter.

Such a system produces about 8600kWh per year, yielding annual savings of €1800.

It is a very common case, that apartment blocks present problems with spacing on their roods, as it is common to all residents and are often filled with other equipment such as air condition compressors and solar heating panels. Many times the solar heating panels and water tanks are placed without consideration and do not allow the subsequent installation of a photovoltaic system. For this project, our team undertook the design of the placement of all mechanical systems (in three-dimensional software) so as to allow the greatest possible space saving, and to free the area needed for the photovoltaic panels. The solar heat panels that were used have increased efficiency and productivity for their respective size, whereas water tanks that could be places vertically were chosen, in order to maximize space savings. Finally, the photovoltaic panels were supported on a triple triangular base, saving space that would normally needed in-between rows of panels.

The Net-Metering billing method is a mechanism that debits the amount of energy produced by the solar system and not used directly onto the household, for future use. For 1-phase households, the maximum size allowed to be installed is 4.16 kW, whereas for 3-phase households this limit is 10 kW.
